  • AW is set in an immersive, embodied cross-cultural context. We are intentional about one learning truths of the gospel from global church perspectives. This gives a richness and depth to God’s truths and a wide view of how He works among all peoples. We want to be postured as learners from all and champions for all.

By learning from local Ugandans, rather than being one to go and do something for them, one has a chance to de-center from the norm and look at issues of justice from a fresh perspective. There is much to learn from others; AW gives time and space for that.

By living and learning in community, as opposed to mostly online or going to an occasional class (which have value for sure!!), one can more fully process what is learned, create and figure out lasting life practices and lean into Kingdom adventure and purpose!

  • Whatever age or stage of life you are, AW is for all those wanting to be formed in the ways of following Jesus in an immersive cross-cultural context. We value multi-generational, multi-background learning environments.

  • Each week, you will have a different individual or family with whom you will spend your afternoons. This will be a local Ugandan who is following Jesus. You will be with them at their work and/or home and observe what they do and join in as able. Examples are to be with a tailor, mechanic, cafe employee, plastics maker, farmer, etc. You will have a meal and then learn about daily life and work, and see how their faith is lived out in that.

  • The Lacor Animation Center is your main accommodation throughout the session. You will be in your own en-suite room (single or double if married or wanting to share with a friend). It is a good, simple, clean guest quarters run by lovely people with a variety of indoor and outdoor space.

  • Fill out the contact form below or send an email to anotherwayglobal@gmail.com. Or, ask to talk to Jennie directly. She would love to share more virtually or in person!

  • Our partner Routes to Africa Travel, LLC Routes to Africa will assist you with flight purchase based on your originating city. In country, RTA and their professional drivers and guides will handle all needed travel with safe vehicles. Once settled in Gulu, most days will be walking or taking the local style of motorcycle taxi as part of the immersive experience. These will be safe pre-approved.

  • The vision for the AW Intensive is to offer 4 and 10 week sessions, giving time for to even more fully learn, process, and implement new rhythms. The first 4 week session will start March 2023. 10 weeks will hopefully be offered in the future.
