Finding the Way (FTW) launched in 2008 not as an organization but as an idea - with a heart to serve alongside people coming out of 22 years of war. Soon after, we registered as an NGO in Uganda and continued officially with development and spiritual investment. What a joy to be a part of so many lives and invest physically, emotionally, and spiritually to help people live new life again.

Current Work

FTW Through The Years…

  • Resettle

Help groups of people who could not do the work of resettling from IDP camps on their own commit to joining together to support and and work as one to clear land, make bricks, construct huts, start farming, and begin to let new life begin. FTW worked with 4 groups of 7 family units across the Acholi region.

  • Relational Investment

Living with past trauma is challenging, and it takes time to live beyond it. FTW has worked for 15 years building and maitaining relational investment, friendships, and safe spaces for people to know they are valued and can find resources and help.

  • Spiritual Formation

Church-planting. Bible teachings. From forming the 7 family unit groups based on an Acts 2 model of helping, to living in the balance of lament and hope, to working through forgiveness, to being more formed in the ways of Jesus and the Spirit, FTW has worked from a place of helping people know and live a life in God’s Kingdom.

  • Clean Water

Each of the 4 groups that resettled had either a deep bore hole or shallow well put in their area to benefit the whole community. Plus, a spring well was constructed at the FTW land to be enjoyed by the village.

  • Vocational Training

Helping young adults and youth learn skills in agriculture, masonry, raising goats or chickens. Doing small business training and helping people learn skills and have the tools to create and sustain a business.

  • Income Generation

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
